Our guides go above and beyond to make every week a special one for guests. From their knowledge of the river to their passion for fishing, these guys do it all. They make sure guests stay safe on the river, offer instruction and guidance, provide much needed humor, untangle a line or two, and set our guests up for success!

They’ve earned their spots on the “Nice” list this year. 😉

One of our favorite parts of being at the lodge, is filling this table with friends and guests every week.

Sometimes we have multiple groups who join us in the same week and don’t know each other at the start. But as the week goes on, folks become friends- dining, laughing, drinking and connecting over what brought all of us together- a shared meal and a love of adventure and fishing.

We’re thankful for all the folks that make the journey to the River Lodge every year! We can’t wait to see you in 2025!

Curtis Wright Outfitters 🤝🏼 Unalakleet River Lodge

We’re excited to say that we’ve teamed up with owner Josh at Curtis Wright Outfitters, who will be adding a week in Unalakleet, Alaska to their hosted trip line up!

As folks know, we call Western North Carolina our home when we aren’t in Alaska and we’re eager to work with our local fly shops and fishing community here in NC.

If you find yourself in Weaverville, NC go check them out on the main street in town.

We’re looking forward to an action packed summer and hosting our friends at Curtis Wright Outfitters!

We’ve got big goals and a lodge dream.

As newish lodge owners (two seasons still feels kind of new!) we’re fueled by the excitement and adventure of Alaska, the joy of new and returning guests and by the epic place we call home every summer. It’s like summer camp for adults. Who doesn’t love that?!

We’re in full spreadsheet and planning mode as we get ready for 2025! Weeks are filling up which means more folks joining our community, more folks sitting at the big table to enjoy our menu and more fishing stories!

We’re two, 30 something year olds with a wild dream and adventurous hearts who love sharing our summer with any and everyone who wants to cast a rod.

So if you’re like us, and need a change of pace from the day to day, give us a ring and come see us in Alaska next summer.

To our URL friends,

We are ok and safe.

We have heard from our Asheville area URL staff, immediate friends and family that they are safe as well.

We are in complete shock at the devastation and loss. These photos are from the main intersection just below our house. We are immensely grateful to have our home in one piece. We know that’s not the case for so many in our area.

We are doing what we can to be good neighbors, friends and community members. Giving what we can, where we can. If you are interested in offering support, please let us know.

For now we are taking it day by day as we assess what we can do next.
